JEE Main 2013 Paper 1 Expert Opinion

The JEE Main 2013 offline (pen and paper) exam was easy as a whole. Physics section was lengthier as compared to mathematics and chemistry. That’s why, it was considered tougher by the engineering aspirants.

In chemistry, Organic, Inorganic and Physical were given almost equal weightage. Overall questions were easy, conceptual and comparatively less time taking and BASED ON NCERT LEVEL (almost 24 questions you can do easily only if you have read NCERT properly). Also remaining 6 questions you can do if you have a taste of coaching. Some questions need to be mug up from NCERT. So as usual, chemistry again proved to be the most easily scoring of the 3 subjects.

Physics is the main deciding part of this exam. As it will create a lot of difference in scoring of the students. Many questions are there that if you know the concept you can do else you cannot do. Also it is deciding, as overall physics is quite lengthier as compared to other two subjects, so here you should have to manage your time properly according to questions.

In Mathematics, overall paper is of medium difficulty level with respect to time in solving questions. Concept wise paper is logical & no new concepts involve, but for some questions, you need to spend some more time.

Last but not the least, because of easy level of question paper, students scoring higher marks in school level will be greatly benefited as JEE (main) merit list will give 40% weightage to Class XII or other qualifying examination marks and 60% to performance in the entrance exam.
